Onyekachi Grace Omitade is the Founder of the Onyeka Omitade Foundation, a nonprofit organisation dedicated to advancing inclusion for children with autism and other developmental disabilities in Nigeria. Driven by personal experience and a deep commitment to social justice, she established the foundation to ensure that children with additional needs have access to education, therapy, family support, and opportunities to thrive.
Alongside her professional role as a Support Worker within the NHS in England, she provides voluntary leadership and coordination support to the Foundation from the United Kingdom. She contributes her professional expertise, time, and personal resources towards the development and delivery of the Foundation’s programmes and initiatives in her home country Nigeria
Her multidisciplinary background spans Computer Science, Cyber Security, healthcare, and community development. She holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, as well as an M.Sc. in Cyber Security from the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol), United Kingdom.
Through her professional role in healthcare, she has completed a range of relevant training programmes, including Safeguarding and Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training on Learning Disability and Autism, alongside other training focused on person-centred care, inclusion, safeguarding, and the wellbeing of individuals with diverse needs.
Her experience across technology, cyber security, education, and healthcare has shaped a distinctive perspective that combines professional knowledge with compassion and a strong commitment to social impact. Through the Foundation, she is dedicated to creating meaningful opportunities for children and vulnerable individuals, promoting dignity, inclusion, equality, safeguarding, and wellbeing.
Her vision is to help build a future where every child is valued, every voice matters, and no one is left behind.
In Nigeria, thousands of children with autism and other developmental disabilities are excluded from education, misunderstood in their communities, and unable to access the support they need. Many families face stigma, isolation, and financial hardship while trying to help their children thrive.
