Why We Exist

In Nigeria, thousands of children with autism and other developmental disabilities are excluded from education, misunderstood in their communities, and unable to access the support they need. Many families face stigma, isolation, and financial hardship while trying to help their children thrive.

The Onyeka Omitade Foundation exists because we believe every child deserves to be understood, included, and given the opportunity to reach their full potential. We work to remove barriers through awareness, education, therapy support, family empowerment, and advocacy.

Our founder’s journey began with her older sister, who struggled throughout her life because her developmental challenges were misunderstood. Watching her experience exclusion, bullying, and lost opportunities inspired the creation of the Onyeka Omitade Foundation so that other children and families would receive the support they deserve.
